About Ken
Kenneth Kaminsky has taught mathematics and statistics in colleges and universities in both the United States and Sweden before coming to Augsburg. He is founder and editor of the department’s newsletter L’Augarithms, now in its 24rd year, and is Augsburg’s liaison with Professor Fogelfroe of ValuPak® University. (You can find Professor Fogelfroe and other Kaminsky cartoons at http://mathcartoons.com/).The second edition of his book, Financial Literacy, written originally as a text for Augsburg’s Math of Interest course, was published in 2010 by University Press of America. Ken’s wife, Amy, is a Professor of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Minnesota. They have two children. Jonathan 33, is currently a freelance journalist living in Palau, and is a stringer for the Associated Press. David, an ethnomusicologist, is 35, is currently teaching in the Department of Music at Harvard University.
Ken’s non-mathematical interests include table tennis, music, movies, eating out, photography, studying languages, and his motor scooter.
