A variety of attractive and informative educational displays for the lab are being developed by several of our Biology majors to help students and visitors learn more about the organisms in the marine aquaria. For example, the display in this photo highlights marine plants, summarizing critical information about major phylogenetic groups of marine algae in particular, and showing pictures of representatives of each group. Another similar display already in place highlights the Cnidaria, the group of animals that corals, anemones, and jellyfish belong to. Eventually we hope to have a complete, full color picture key developed, showing all of the readily visible species of plants and animals in the aquaria.
