TRIO/SSS
Bridge Summer Program
The TRIO/SSS Summer Bridge
program meets weekday mornings mid-July to mid-August and includes
college courses with academic support seminars. Workshops and fun
activities provide additional information and resources for a smooth
transition to Augsburg College.\
The Summer Bridge
program is FREE of cost to TRIO/SSS students. Incoming freshman who
qualify for the TRIO program are eligible for an Augsburg Summer Bridge
Scholarship to offset tuition for the Religion 100 course and its
Supplemental Instruction Seminar. TRIO/SSS will cover the cost of the
GST 140 course. These courses are FREE on the condition that the student
participates in TRIO/SSS program for the duration of enrollment at
Augsburg College. During the academic year, TRIO/SSS students receive
individual and group advising to foster positive study habits and
academic success.
Summer Bridge 2004
includes:
REL 100: Christian Vocation
and the Search for Meaning with the Supplemental Instruction Seminar
GST 140: Introduction to
Liberal Art
Workshops focus on such
topics as financial aid, campus jobs, and studclubs
Summer Bridge participants
will receive use of laptop computers and receive computer training
Fun activiities include
barbecue and outdoor adventuring
Summer Bridge participants
meet individually with their TRIO/SSS advisor to create a 4-year plan
for academic success
Summer Bridge
participants are given first priority for other TRIO/SSS scholarships
that are provided during the academic year.
