Telephone

Augsburg uses Meridian mail to provide voicemail service to campus phones.

Print this voicemail map in landscape mode for a handy reference guide.

Here are some common questions and answers about the system.

Q:Who do I contact about telecom issues?
Faculty and staff should contact their LFC. Students should contact Student Computing.

Q:How do I tell if my phone is an analog or digital phone?
Digital phones have a display, showing the current date and time. They also have a row of keys on the right side on the telephone.

Analog phones do not have a display and only have a standard number pad and RELEASE (R) and LINK (L) keys. If you live in a residence hall, you have an analog phone.

Q:Can I use a modem?
Only if you have an analog phone. Using a modem with a digital phone requires a special adapter or a separate analog phone line.

Q:How do I make a Long Distance Call?
If you are a student see this page.

If you are a faculty or staff member, your phone may already have long distance calling enabled. If so, simply dial + + Area Code + Number. If your phone does not have long distance enabled, you will hear a fast busy tone and you must use an Authorization Code.

Q:How do I use an Authorization Code?
Dial + Authorization Code + + + Area Code + Number.

Q:How do I get an Authorization Code?
Contact your LFC.

Q:How do I get Directory Assistance?
