All students have a portfolio from School and Society, although the format may vary between students. Within student teaching, the students will refine their portfolio so that each area has been reflected upon and contain evidence of learning. During student teaching, students will be expected to add the following items:

 

¨      A reflection on the student teaching experience in preparation for a job interview.

 

¨      Best Lesson-in best lesson format. Supervisor must collect one copy for records.

 

¨      A classroom management dilemma along with the solution strategies that were applied.

 

¨      Documentation and reflection on impact on student learning. Supervisor must collect one copy for records.

 

¨      List of strengths and weaknesses as well as developmental needs during your first years of teaching.

 

¨      Resume

 

¨      Cooperating teacher’s final evaluation. Supervisor must collect one copy for records.

 

The goal is to use this material as preparation for a job interview. The college supervisor will check your portfolio for evidence of each category and collect items that are designated above. Be sure to have 2 copies of Best Lesson, Student Learning, and the final evaluation. Be prepared to discuss all of the categories listed during your last seminar.

 

THIS CHECKLIST MUST BE COMPLETE AND SIGNED BY YOUR COLLEGE SUPERVISOR IN ORDER TO DEMONSTRATE COMPLETION OF YOUR STUDENT TEACHING EXPERIENCE.
