UPCOMING BIOPHYSICS EVENTS!

Dr. Mauris de Silva
Apr. 3 in Science Hall 21 at 1:30 p.m.

Developing Nano-Physics Based Approaches for Central Nervous System Regeneration.
Mauris earned his B. S. degree at Augsburg in 2000 with a major in Physics, and completed a Ph. D. in Materials Science at the University of Minnesota in 2005. Since then he has worked as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Ophthalmology in the School of Medicine at the University of Miami, Florida. His work has focused on strategies to restore sight to persons with optical nerve damage. His talk will include a description of the path he has taken across various fields of science, and how Materials Science connects to the disciplines of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
