Final Portfolio                                                          NOTE HIGHLIGHTED POINTS

 

All students have a portfolio from EDC 480, School and Society although the format may vary between students.

Within student teaching, the students will finalize their program portfolio so that each area has been reflected upon and contain evidence of learning. During student teaching, students will be expected to add the following items:

1)    A Table of Contents in the beginning to help guide your supervisor to the places revisions were made within the portfolio.

 

2)    A reflection on the student teaching experience in preparation for a job interview. (MSEP 9)

 

3)    Best Lesson-in best lesson plan format. Make 2 copies. (MSEP 2, 3 4, 7, & 8)

 

4)    A classroom management dilemma along with the solution strategies that were applied. (MSEP 5)

 

5)    Documentation and reflection on impact on student learning. (See description below) Make 2 copies. (MSEP 2, 3, 8)

 

6)    List of strengths and weaknesses and development needs during your first years of teaching. (MSEP 9 & 10)

 

7)    Resume

 

8)    Cooperating teacher's final evaluation. Make 2 copies. (MSEP 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10)

 

College supervisors will collect these portfolios for review at the completion of student teaching--at the final student teaching seminar.

 

Impact on student learning (item 4): Teachers are accountable for student gains in learning. Student teachers need to demonstrate that they know how to determine if student learning occurred in an individual lesson as well as in units. The purpose of this assignment is to have student teachers show evidence of authentic student learning in their classroom. Include the following:
